I received an email today regarding information for a couple of local events in West Bend this summer:
"Before you know it August will be here and so will the 2nd Annual Council on AODA’s Triathlon! The triathlon will be held on August 21, 2010 at Ackerman’s Grove. The race will involve a ¼ mile swim, a 15 mile bike ride and a 5K run. Last year, over 300 people participated and everyone enjoyed themselves despite some cold weather!
In addition, because of the success of the Triathlon and based on requests from the community, The Council has teamed up with the Kettle Moraine YMCA to offer a marathon/half marathon on the Eisenbahn Trail. This event is scheduled for August 28, 2010. What makes this event especially exciting is that it will end in downtown West Bend in the midst of Germanfest, the Farmer’s Market and the Riverwalk Art Festival.
