Within a few weeks of my daughter arriving to college, her room-mate began preparing for a job as a Tiger Pump instructor in the student rec center. Ali would observe other trainers and gradually begin teaching certain segments; first the warm-up then adding on biceps, squats etc. Within a few weeks she was a full-fledged Tiger Pump instructor. Ali has a love for fitness and has been a positive influence on my daughter for those reasons. For the past few months, Auburn would attend Ali's 7am Tiger Pump class providing camaraderie and support. Now that the students are quarantined hundreds and thousands of miles apart, the workouts aren't nearly as fun. Auburn humored me today so I could share with her the Aaptiv site and pass the option along to you.
I purchased a year-long Aaptiv membership last summer when I was walking/jogging around our neighborhood. The programs are hosted by professional trainers and set to invigorating, upbeat music. They share encouragement, tempo training suggestions, reminders to moderate the breath, mantras, and words of wisdom. They offer programs for ellipticals, spinning, yoga, Pilates, and even meditation.
Like many fitness apps, they are offering 40 free selections especially curated for the home experience. Strength Core (circuit), Meditation (The Sleep Cure), Cardio Conquer (outdoor walk/run), Meditate (Breathe Through It), and Strength Hot Mess (squats, jumps, plyo). Auburn joined me for the 15 minute core circuit this morning. As I practice YouTube editor (trim, split, cut etc) I tried to narrow down the 15 minute compilation just to give you an idea of the Aaptiv experience. It's a great way to get your family off the couch. Most of the sessions are 15-30 minutes in length, ideal for our relatively short attention spans. Enjoy!
