Kimberly Graham is a smart, talented, athletic college student I was privileged to meet seven years ago. To my family, Kim holds the distinction as the most beautiful tennis instructor ever! She taught Auburn when she was five years old. To Auburn, Kim was like a Disney princess or fairy Godmother; her magic wand a tennis racquet. The lessons, held at Badger Middle School, were eagerly anticipated by Auburn, thanks to Kim's warm smile, graciousness, and perhaps the Popsicles, often kept in a cooler in her car!
In 2008, two weeks before her high school graduation, doctor's at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee discovered a 2 pound volleyball-sized tumor on her lung. A grueling surgery ensued, chemotherapy, radiation, remission, and recurrence all over the past four years. There is no cure for Ewing's Sarcoma PNET. Kim's best chance for survival is ongoing research as doctors have run out of treatment options.

Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, is a current spokesperson for the MACC fund. The MACC Fund supports pediatric cancer and blood-disorder research in Wisconsin since 1976. The $36 million which the MACC Fund has donated to research over 33 years impacts research here and across the nation as seen by increased cure rates for childhood cancer rising from 20% to 80%. The MACC Fund supports cutting edge research in the 6-story MACC Fund Research Center of the Medical College of Wisconsin, in the 14,000 square foot MACC Fund Childhood Cancer Research Wing of the University of Wisconsin's Carbone Cancer Center and in the MACC Fund Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness , owned by John and Jacci Gambucci, is an environment of positive social support, skills training, character development, and employment opportunities for youth. Many young adults like Kim as well as the Gambucci's own children have worked the front desk, tennis courts, and behind the scenes to make Pleasant Valley a welcoming facility for people of all ages. Kim's mom Dawn is one of my tennis partners, energetic and a great competitor (she beats me decisively with a swing and a smile!) I admire her attitude, determination, and commitment to sharing her families' story in the hopes of saving the lives of children affected by cancer. The greatest wealth truly is health.
There will be numerous items available at the silent auction. If you have a service or item you wish to donate to the silent auction please let me know and I will contact the coordinator.
