Dear Friends,
Thank you for responding to the recent Pilates Interest Survey. Based upon the feedback I will be offering classes at the following days and times:
Group Classes (5-10 people, $140 for 14 weeks) No Class the Week of Thanksgiving
Monday Mat Class: 5:15p.m. (Fundamentals)
Tuesday Mat Class: 8:30a.m. (Mixed Level Practice)
Wednesday Mat Class 8:30am. (TBD)
Wednesday Mat Class: 5:15p.m. (Fundamentals)
Small Group Training with the Pilates Resistance Equipment (3-4 people, $60 for 1 month) No Class the Week of Thanksgiving
Tuesdays 5:15p.m.
Wednesday 12:00 noon
Fundamental classes will emphasize basic Pilates principles, add modifications as needed and focus on the beginner to intermediate series. The Mixed Level classes will seek to elevate the exercises to intermediate/advanced level skills. Those of you who have attended my summer mat classes know the goal has been to advance participants through workouts that progressively build the skills we need to master more advanced exercises. We will do the same this fall. Each class is designed to get deeper into the work with a specific concept in mind, for instance hip strength, powerhouse engagement, overhead exercises etc. I plan to do the same for our fundamentals class but work at a beginner to intermediate level. We learn new exercises, get stronger, and then link them all together with a class that emphasizes flow and rhythm with less teaching cues. We will keep building in this manner throughout the 14 weeks. I will say, the greatest benefit comes from consistent attendance. We want to build strength and knowledge at a similar pace with similar understanding of the mechanics of each exercise.
Small group training will utilize the Pilates reformer, tower, chair and ped-o-pul and proceed on a month by month basis. A ladder-barrel, another great piece designed to enhance strength and stretch is on order and I expect it to arrive late-fall. This will be a 50-minute circuit program with each person on a different piece of equipment. We will explore the spring resistance and its application to assisting us with challenging mat exercises but also elevating our practice and enhancing muscular strength. 3 people would likely allow for a comfortable rotation but we could also do 4 if that is your preferred group. If the above times don't work for your group, please contact me and we can schedule according to your convenience.
Thank you to those of you who have already reached out expressing interest. You may venmo me at Tiffany-larson-32, cash or check to confirm your space. The above classes are contingent on a minimum of 5 participants. I will condense or expand classes based upon needs. After 10+ enjoyable years teaching at Pleasant Valley Tennis I have decided to take a break this fall and consolidate my work to Home Training, LLC.
Thank you again for your support. As always, please share this email with your friends! There is camaraderie and accountability in pursuing health with others of similar mindset. Please check facebook or instagram for daily/weekly updates. Hope to see you all here the week of September 6th!
