Tuesday, October 13th at the West Bend East Fieldhouse is a night dedicated to raising money for the MACC Fund, Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer. Our guests of honor will be the Dove family whose twin daughters, students at Silverbrook Intermediate School, are currently fighting leukemia. The West Bend East girls volleyball, coached by Colleen Haase, were inspired to host a function supporting this special family with all proceeds, at the request of the Dove family, donated to the MACC fund. In addition, this will be a great competitive match against the leader of the WLT, Oconomowoc. You are in for a real treat and showdown watching the East girls in action. In addition concessions will be available so take a night off from the kitchen and enjoy pretzels and popcorn at the game. This will be a night for the West Bend community, everybody, young and old, to be inspired by the action both on and off the court. This night celebrates the "Fighters!"
Our West Bend Wellness facebook page, motto, "Encourage One Another," did an awesome job contributing to our basket raffle. I am still in the crafty process of "beautifying" them for purchase however the content speaks for itself. Massage, acupuncture, yoga, Pilates, fitness apparel, fitness classes, even private ice-skating lessons by competitive figure skater Alex Christensen and her professional coach (and mom) Susie Christensen!
Multiple families from the JV 1, JV 2 and Varsity teams are donating baskets with various themes including: Movie Night, Christmas, Fall Decor, Tailgates, Minions, and even a basket for the new teen driver! Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, October 13th, JV 1 and JV 2 play at 5:30p.m. and Varsity at 6:45p.m. You may purchase basket raffle tickets at the West Bend High fieldhouse. A special thank-you to the members and practioners of West Bend Wellness on facebook for generously supporting these efforts.
