After a two -week holiday break it is time to return to a routine. Mind-body exercise is the perfect partner to create awareness, purpose and order in your daily life.
HOME TRAINING MAT CLASSES...12 week session...$100
Mat classes begin Tuesday and Wednesday, January 7th and 8th, at 9am. These two classes are currently full and are structured at an intermediate level of matwork. Of course we often add more advanced sequences just to keep our body alert and well-tuned. Drop-in spaces are sometimes available if a regular member is unable to attend. I typically publish these availabilities on my Facebook page. Even if you are a beginner and wish to drop in I can always modify the class. "Strengthen Without Straining" is our motto no matter your level of experience. A few current members signed up for 6 weeks so there is also a possibility of joining us in mid-February.

Just as playing doubles tennis once a week helps me to stay fit and socially engaged, Pilates can serve the same purpose. It has often become an alternative social gathering, from the bar and restaurant scene, for friends with similar values for staying fit and connected. If you desire to start a new training regimen please contact me and we can arrange a beginner class for your social network!

The "meat" of the Pilates Method is often found with the equipment training. Joseph Pilates was ingenious with the design and construction of the equipment he created in the 1940's. His designs have withstood the test of time and are used around the world in Pilates studios and gym settings. Of course, more people do mat work because it is generally less expensive, but an investment in a few 1:1 training sessions on the equipment can be eye-opening. I do try to keep my prices as reasonable as possible recognizing my business costs are less than owning a traditional studio. Current prices are $45 or a set of 5 classes for $200. Class time runs between 50-60 minutes...and sometimes longer if we just can't stop! Buddy training still gives you close attention at half the price so grab a friend and commit to a session.

Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness offers the option of "On Demand" classes. (Glad I came up with that idea!:)) Yoga, Kettlebells, Insanity, and TRX classes are all classes you can create to fit your schedule. I love TRX--it has an infusion of strength training, Pilates, flexibility, and cardio that leaves us laughing and crying, never certain if we want more or simply want to stop all together! As I learn more about the Barre method I do try to incorporate emphasis on balance and lower-body strengthening with slow, deep, intense movements that target the glutes and thighs. I have taught 3 of these on-demand group classes the past 4 days and they have kept my "head in the game" this holiday week. Thank you friends for your desire to participate. Class size typically ranges anywhere from 1-12 participants! This class is suitable for all levels of fitness and modifications are demonstrated for those looking for a more basic or advanced arrangement. It is a beautiful, warm facility and I am certain you would enjoy the ambiance, people, as well as the reasonable rates if you are looking for a gym membership. No matter what you choose for your fitness goals, this community offers many health and fitness classes with professional instructors. I love Jen Martin and the variety of yoga and mind-body classes she offers at The Soul Source in West Bend (check out her Facebook page). Terri Bodden has created a fantastic community of fitness fans in Kewaskum at Finish Line Training (also on Facebook). I know from experience at Yoga One in Cedarburg that Julianne Hutchcraft, RN and Yoga Coach is a wonderful addition to our community as well. You don't have to join a gym to stay fit...you simply must make your body, your health, your well-being a priority. You can do it!
