"The smallest deed is better than the greatest of intention." This quote is from Mother Teresa, a woman of immense strength and wisdom. She left a life of comfort to serve others. She also said, "We cannot all do big things but we can all do small things with great love." Her "game-plan" is one I admire and view in absolute awe. In my opinion, she must be the best life-coach and personal trainer in modern history. To put her words into practice, I am pleased to announce a small effort, to be performed with great love, to provide financial support to our friends in Haiti.
Sunday, February 14th, at Rivershores YMCA we will offer an 8:30a.m. Pilates Mat Class (all-levels), 9:30a.m. Cardio/Soul/Power (interval training), and 10:30a.m. Yogalates with emphasis on Yoga. I plan to teach the 8:30 and 9:30a.m. class, and my favorite exercise physiologist and Yoga/Pilates guru Chrissy Steiner will teach the 10:30a.m. class.
The cost is $10 per class with a max of 15 participants each hour. We appreciate sign-up in advance, however if there is space that morning then please jump in and join us. Class length is 50 minutes each. If you are not a member of the YMCA but want to participate, please let me know and I will get you a guest pass for the day. If you don't like exercise but want to donate $10, no sweat!
100% of the proceeds will be directed to the YMCA World Service Organization for Haiti Relief. There are other efforts being promoted through the YMCA for Haiti including a clothing or shoe drive.
The sign-up sheets are located at the Rivershores front desk. Thank you so much for your participation as well as for simply taking the time to read this post. Exercise can benefit EVERY-BODY!
