This week I embark on an educational opportunity to learn from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Master Instructor, Bridget Hagood. Bridget is presenting a 4-day training seminar at the Pewaukee Movement Center. I am currently registered for Monday and Tuesday and, depending on family demands, may even squeeze in an additional day. Education is empowering and I am grateful for the chance to train and learn with other experienced instructors and Pilates enthusiasts. We may not aspire to be Circu du Soleil stars but we can all have strong, balanced, flexible bodies. I look forward to sharing Bridget's training methods with you in the weeks ahead.
Bridget Hagood is widely respected as a leading teacher/trainer of the Classical Pilates System. Armed with an M.S. in Exercise Physiology, this Level III Romana trainer is brilliant at identifying postural imbalances, selecting appropriate corrective exercises within the classical system, and using touch to achieve proper alignment. Certified by Romana Kryzanowska, Bridget works with apprentices and veteran teachers, honing their skills. She holds certification as a Health & Fitness Instructor from the American College of Sports Medicine, as well as certifications in Personal Training from the American Council on Exercise, National Council of Strength and Fitness, and the National Strength Professionals Association. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Florida and a doctoral candidate in Exercise Physiology. In her spare time, Bridget practices aerial work, training with the Gemini Twins from Cirque du Soleil and Frederica Debb of Paris. She performed at the Aerial Dance Festival in Boulder, Colorado in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
