Recent update to current Home Training Pilates Clients:

Dear Friends,

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful summer.  It is a pleasure to see so many of my Home Training mat class clients at Pleasant Valley. Thank you for attending class! As an update we currently offer Thursday 7a.m. On-Demand Pilates ($10 member/$12 non-member) as well as On-Demand TRX classes. TRX classes are scheduled at 7a.m. Wednesdays, 7:30am and 9:30a.m. Fridays ($10 member/$12 non-member.) Please note the additional $10 and $12 fees. The On-Demand classes are "off the grid" so to speak; they are added according to client request and intended to meet your needs at a time convenient for you.  We are exploring an online sign up at PV, but for the time being if you are interested in participating in any of these weekly On-Demand classes please let me know and I will be happy to reserve a space for you; particularly for TRX since we have a limited number of straps available.  Please email or facebook me your preferences . If you all,  as a group of Pilates devotees, want to create your own special time at Pleasant Valley that is also a possibility. Currently the studio is available Tuesdays at 8:00a.m. which might be a nice On-Demand time slot for those of you who participated in morning mat classes at Home Training.

Thank you for being faithful to your Pilates practice. I am so glad you all feel such positive benefits from the movement method.Your continued enthusiasm keeps me engaged and motivated with my own personal training and education.  As always I continue to see clients 1:1 for Pilates equipment training in my home studio. You are always welcome to make an appointment...a Pilates tune-up can keep your body running with strength, flexibility, balance and control all summer long!

This is a longer video of Brown's workout using a Pilates apparatus. I shared the shorter version on my Facebook page. I have attended a couple of workshops with Christina Rubio, the trainer and therapist in this clip. If this was a real session reformer movements would likely be slower and more controlled; machines make a difference too as my Gratz reformer springs create more work than the fluid, lighter Balanced Body machines. Both are work, I have owned both machines but traded out my Balanced Body for a Gratz as I felt it accomplished the core intent of Pilates more effectively.  Nonetheless, every time I get on a Balanced Body machine I think, "I love you and I miss you." So both will help you accomplish your goals!
