I attended a cookie exchange last weekend celebrating Christmas traditions with a special group of women from surrounding churches. Because I usually find myself in a quandry of what to bake, I relied on my favorite styles of chocolate candies. I included the Dark-Chocolate Nut Crunch from Dr. Davis' Wheat Belly 30-minute (Or Less) cookbook, plus Dark Chocolate Bark with Coconut and Cranberries, and finally Keto Friendly Peppermint Bark. These recipes are easy and versatile. With a double boiler and a little bit of coconut oil, all styles of chocolate melt smoothly. www.kulinarian.com/recipes/keto-friendly-peppermint-bark?embed=link

The hostess shared with us all a thoughtful parting gift, Christmas Stove-Top Potpourri. Cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, cranberries and an orange all tied together in a cellophane bag with Christmas bow and simple instructions. More than 20 years ago when we were living in Atlanta we sold our home using a similar scented technique! Want to create a warm, cozy environment? Simply appeal to people's senses, especially their sense of smell which can evoke fond memories. Bring cinammon, nutmeg, cloves and other aromatic spices to a small boil then let it simply simmer on the stove. Add water as needed and re-use as necessary.

Many thanks to my sweet daughter, Auburn, for this awesome Auburn Tiger kitchen towel!
