Memorial Day Weekend! Although we had heavy frost last night with low temps around 30 degrees, today we "opened" the pool. This is an unnatural phrase for me, partly because this is the first year we have had a pool, and secondly, being from Florida, one never closes a pool! But pinch me, I live in Wisconsin!
Next week is a "FREE" week between our spring and summer session. Tuesday and Wednesday mornings we meet for mat class at 9am. Anybody is welcome to attend but please give me a little advanced notice as mat class is full with 6 participants. Rather than being completely free, I thought it was a good time to give back to our community and have elected to do a "DONATIONS" class with proceeds going to The Family Center of Washington County. You can read more about this not-for-profit local agency at their website. http://www.wcfamilycenter.orgAbout_The_Family_Center.html
Summer Session begins the week of June 2nd...Tuesday and Wednesdays at 8:30a.m. A few spaces remain so please contact me if you wish to commit to 6 ($50) or 12 weeks ($100). Class is quite relaxed in the summertime. If you need to bring your kids just set them loose in the back yard. Don't dress up, don't wear make-up, and don't brush your hair. If possible, run or walk to Home Training. We will stretch, strengthen, tone and lengthen and move on to our day with prompt, focused efficiency! As always, if space permits and you wish to drop in for $10, just email, text, or facebook me to confirm your space.
There has been significant interest in TRX on Demand. Gather a group of friends and I will meet you as early as 6am this summer at Pleasant Valley for a 45 minute core, cardio, strength training workout. More details should be available at the Pleasant Valley website but don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or wish to commit to a date and time. The price varies a bit on number of participants (1 = $30, 2= $15/each, 3-8= $10/each) http://www.pvtfc.com/site/
I am always a bit surprised, (because I feel like I am always educating/preaching on the merits of Pilates) by the number of people who ask me, "What can I do to firm up my belly, arms, thighs etc?" In addition, many of these individuals have orthopedic issues that heavy strength training, plyometrics, running may contribute to further pain; particularly with neck and back dysfunction. The most obvious, simple, straight forward answer is the Pilates Reformer. Strength, flexibility, posture, pain reduction, and even positive attitude adjustments are common side effects of a 50 minute reformer session. Split the cost with a friend and we tag-team between the Chair and Reformer.
As a side note to an earlier post (True Confessions 3/21/2013), I feel 110% better since prescribed the Armour natural thyroid medication by Dr. Douglas Brown. Many friends and strangers wrote to me and said they experienced similar symptoms...a few even made appointments with Dr. Brown. In addition Karen's Energy store has been such an inspiration to improving my nutritional health. Food is incredibly powerful, and it can heal your body....even cacao (chocolate). Thank you for reading!
